Had a rough night sleep, and, until some rumination and discussion with Cathy, I didn’t realize I was still chewing on stuff brought up by the movie Sunday. The ride into work was pretty bad, with major slowing from Ruthrauff to Miracle Mile.

Today, I’m focusing on things getting better, and some belief changing.

“I believe, in the long run, the good and positive experiences I have from being open emotionally will be much better, and well worth the cost of any pain that might accompany them, than the loneliness and fear that comes from being emotionally unavailable and shut down.”

Now, will that fit on a T-Shirt?  🙂

I feel better this morning, coughing slightly less. Went for a short walk with Sasha (2 circuits of the circle): http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/288741991/12933999

The ride to work was backed up through downtown again. Work is pretty good.

I’m looking forward to Rally Practice with Sasha and Cathy. It’s nice to see Steve and the others who come, too.

I cooked up some Whole Wheat Rotini with Cathy’s sauce, meatball and sausage for dinner, and we walked some TV before heading over to Rally practice. Sadly, Steve got hung up at work and wasn’t able to make it, so we milled around a bit, then went home and watched more TV.

It was nice to sleep in a bit; Sasha is going to Doggy Day Care today at Camp K9. She’ll run out plenty of energy (not all of it, but a lot). I’m still recovering from Saturday’s ride, but not my muscles, my lungs. It was dry and cold, and all the extra breathing made things a little raw, and some goop crept in. I’m taking some things to mitigate and repair the damage, but I still coughed up a bunch of yuck in the shower. I had to use my inhaler more, which helped also.

I made it to work, which is really good. I don’t feel sick otherwise, but I am making sure to breath deeply and often to ensure things stay open.

Had an ok day at work, and a pretty good ride home.  Sasha was super excited to see me, even talking to me like she does her Mom and siblings.

Dinner and a quiet evening of shows led to a pretty good night’s sleep.

January 19, 2014

I slept in late and went to breakfast at IHOP with Cathy, Ronnie and Maddie. It was a wonderful treat to sit down with everyone and share a good meal.

Cathy and I went to see Osage County; that is a tough movie. It was cathartic and opened up some old pain I had thought resolved, along with some new. It’s good to know it’s there, and to have another chance to work through it. I am very lucky to have Cathy to help me with things like this. She gently nudged me to open up about my feelings and to identify some things I was missing. Thank you, my Beautiful Wife!

We had a good day, to end a very good weekend, watching some TV and taking it easy.

Thank you, Maddie, for the wonderful leftovers!

Ronnie and Maddie came down last night, and Ronnie went with me on the HMS Bike Ride. It was much more challenging than last week’s ride. I had to walk my bike up the last part of the last big hill, but I feel good about how I did for where I am now. http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/287733110/12933999

Cathy went to Sierra Vista for the Huachuca Mountain Stamp Club (HMSC) meeting, and she told me people asked about me. That was a nice feeling to know I was missed. I wish I didn’t have to choose between two such great events.

We went to the German Shepherd Dog Club of Southern Arizona (GSDCSAZ) this afternoon at Brandi Fenton park. It was nice to meet some new folks and dogs, and also to see some people and dogs we hadn’t seen in a while. Sasha’s sister JJ was there, and they both had a big happy reunion with lots of verbalization. It was fun to watch them.

Getting ready to watch Grimm from last night, and looking forward to it.

I woke up at 3:15, wide awake. After some water and Advil, I was able to get back to sleep after a bit

I had a nice walk with Sasha this morning, and she did extremely well: http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/287341015/12933999

I’m kind of tired today, but my back is doing better. I’m looking forward to a haircut today, and a nice evening watching TV Shows with my Beautiful Wife.

Had a nice walk with Sasha this morning: http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/287016604/12933999

I was going a mile a minute this morning; thanks to some gentle feedback from Cathy, I was able to take a breath and slow down.

It was a long ride into work; there was more than a little slowing in a number of places.

I had a nice lunch of some leftover Lasagna with a meatball and a sausage.

I am looking forward to being home this evening. My lower back has been paining me all day, despite taking advil.
